Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter Melted
  • ½ cup Light Brown Sugar Packed
  • 4 Bananas Peeled and sliced
  • 1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round cake pan (9 inches) with cooking spray or butter. Pour the melted butter into the bottom of the pan, coating it evenly.
  • Step 2: Sprinkle the packed light brown sugar evenly over the melted butter in the pan. Arrange the sliced bananas on top of the sugar mixture.
  • Step 3: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another large mixing bowl, beat together the granulated sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
  • Step 4: Add the milk and vanilla extract to the egg mixture and mix until well combined. Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  • Step 5: Pour the cake batter over the arranged bananas in the cake pan, smoothing out the top. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Step 6: Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then carefully invert it onto a serving plate.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for maximum sweetness. Allow the cake to rest after baking for easier release from the pan.
