Instructions
Step 1: Combine the water and granulated sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves to create a simple syrup.
Step 2: Add fresh raspberries to the simple syrup. Simmer for 5-7 minutes to break down the raspberries and release their juices.
Step 3: Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, discarding the solids to obtain raspberry syrup.
Step 4: In a large pitcher, mix the lime juice with the raspberry syrup and stir well.
Step 5: Pour in the sparkling water (or lemon-lime soda) and stir gently to combine.
Step 6: Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the raspberry-limeade mixture, add a shot of spirit, and garnish with lime slices and raspberries.
