Ingredients

Dough

  • 12.4 ounces refrigerated pizza dough (1 tube)

Sauce

  • cup marinara sauce plus more for dipping

Cheese

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • cup pepperoni slices
  • ¼ cup green bell pepper finely diced
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped, for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese for garnish

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Step 2: Roll out your refrigerated pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to create a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
  • Step 3: Spread the ⅓ cup of marinara sauce evenly over the surface of the rolled dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Step 4: Sprinkle the 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, followed by the ⅓ cup of pepperoni slices, ¼ cup of finely diced green bell pepper, and ¼ cup of grated parmesan cheese over the sauce.
  • Step 5: Starting at one end, carefully roll the dough tightly to form a log and pinch the edges to seal the filling inside.
  • Step 6: Slice the rolled log into 1-inch thick pinwheels and place them cut-side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Step 7: Bake the pinwheels in your preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Step 8: Let them cool for a few minutes before garnishing with freshly chopped parsley and an extra sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Serve with additional marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding spices like Italian seasoning or garlic powder to the marinara sauce. Don’t overload the toppings to avoid difficulty in rolling.
