Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons Butter For caramelizing onions
  • 1 large Sweet Onion Peeled and thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons Brown Sugar Packed
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Thawed
  • ¼ cup Brie Cut into 24 small cubes
  • 1 piece Taylor’s Gold Pear Cored and chopped into 24 pieces

Instructions

  • Step 1: Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sprinkle with salt. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes until soft and translucent.
  • Step 2: Add the brown sugar to the skillet with the caramelized onions. Stir well and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes until deeply caramelized and sticky. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Step 3: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into 24 squares, roughly 3 inches by 3 inches.
  • Step 4: Arrange the puff pastry squares on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place a cube of brie in the center of each square, followed by a piece of pear and a spoonful of caramelized onion mixture. Fold the pastry over and pinch to seal.
  • Step 5: Brush the tops lightly with melted butter or egg wash. Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  • Step 6: Let the bites cool for a few minutes before serving warm. Enjoy!
