Ingredients

Lobster Roll Ingredients

  • ¼ cup celery, finely diced
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon chives, chopped
  • ½ tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon pepper
  • 7 ounces cooked lobster meat, chilled and cut into chunks
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 split-top hot dog buns

Instructions

  • Step 1: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the finely diced celery, mayonnaise, chopped chives, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Stir well until all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
  • Step 2: Gently fold the chilled, chunked lobster meat into the mayonnaise mixture, being careful not to break up the lobster too much.
  • Step 3: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the split-top hot dog buns cut-side down into the skillet and toast for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Step 4: Spoon an ample amount of the lobster mixture into each toasted bun.
  • Step 5: Serve the lobster rolls immediately while the buns are warm and the lobster mixture is fresh.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Skillet

Notes

Use fresh lobster if possible. Let the lobster mixture chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors.
