Ingredients

Filling Ingredients

  • 1 cup Napa cabbage, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 large Egg yolk
  • 16 ounces Ground beef
  • ¼ cup Green onions, thinly chopped (about ½ bunch)
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, peeled and grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Asian chili sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Filling - In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped Napa cabbage and salt. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, allowing the salt to draw out some moisture from the cabbage. Squeeze out any excess moisture from the cabbage using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  • Step 2: Mix the Ingredients - In the same bowl with the cabbage, add the ground beef, green onions, grated ginger, minced garlic, egg yolk, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, Asian chili sauce, and black pepper. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  • Step 3: Assemble the Potstickers - Take a dumpling wrapper and place it in the palm of your hand. Add about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of the wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with a little water, fold it over to create a half-moon shape, and seal the edges tightly.
  • Step 4: Cook the Potstickers - In a large non-stick skillet, add a tablespoon of oil and heat it over medium-high heat. Arrange the potstickers in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown. Add enough water to cover the bottom of the skillet, cover with a lid, and steam for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Step 5: Serve and Enjoy - Transfer the potstickers to a serving plate. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy warm.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Non-stick Skillet

Notes

Make sure to seal the potstickers tightly to prevent the filling from leaking out while cooking. You can prepare the filling a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator.
