Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts

Marinade

  • 0.5 cup dill pickle juice
  • 0.25 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon smoked paprika

Cheese

  • 4 slices cheese (pepper jack or cheddar recommended)

Buns

  • 4 pieces sandwich buns

Instructions

  • Step 1: Marinate the Chicken - In a bowl, combine the dill pickle juice, whole milk, powdered sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Whisk until well blended. Place chicken in a resealable bag, pour marinade over, seal, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Step 2: Preheat Your Grill - Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • Step 3: Grill the Chicken - Remove chicken from marinade, discard marinade, and grill chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • Step 4: Melt the Cheese - In the last minute of grilling, place a slice of cheese on each chicken breast and close the grill lid to melt.
  • Step 5: Assemble the Sandwiches - Toast buns if desired, place grilled chicken with melted cheese on a bun, add toppings, and finish with the top bun.
  • Step 6: Serve and Enjoy - Serve warm with fries or a side salad.
