Instructions
Step 1: Prepare your ingredients. Chop the onions and mince the garlic. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2: Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and do not rinse.
Step 3: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions until soft, then add garlic and cook for another minute.
Step 4: Add tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
Step 5: Combine the cooked rigatoni with the sauce, stirring well to coat the pasta.
Step 6: In a baking dish, layer half of the rigatoni mixture, sprinkle cheese, then add the remaining rigatoni and top with more cheese.
Step 7: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Step 8: Let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
