Angel Food Cake Berry Trifle

Ingredients

Fruits

  • 4 cups Strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 6 ounces Blackberries
  • 18 ounces Blueberries
  • 12 ounces Raspberries

Cream and Pudding

  • 3 cups Heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup Powdered sugar
  • 5.1 ounces Instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups Milk (2% or whole)

Cake

  • 1 whole Angel food cake, prepared

Garnish

  • to taste Fresh mint for garnish (optional)
  • ¼ cup Granulated sugar For macerating strawberries

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries with granulated sugar. Toss them gently to coat. Set them aside for about 15-20 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar. Whip until soft peaks form.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth and thickened.
  • Cut the angel food cake into cubes. In a trifle dish, layer the ingredients starting with cake cubes, followed by whipped cream, pudding, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. Garnish with fresh mint if desired.

Notes
