- 1 pound (450g) ground chicken
- 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
- ½ cup dried breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oil, for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix ground chicken, onion, garlic, ginger, breadcrumbs, egg, sesame oil, and soy sauce until well combined.
- With wet hands, form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the baking sheet.
- Brush the meatballs lightly with oil for a golden finish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).
- Serve hot with rice, lettuce wraps, or a dipping sauce of your choice.
Notes
For extra flavor, add chopped green onions or a pinch of red pepper flakes. These meatballs can also be grilled for a smoky touch.
