Description

Juicy, flavorful Asian chicken meatballs packed with fresh ginger, garlic, and soy sauce—perfect as an appetizer or main dish!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450g) ground chicken
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
  • ½ cup dried breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oil, for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground chicken, onion, garlic, ginger, breadcrumbs, egg, sesame oil, and soy sauce until well combined.
  3. With wet hands, form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the baking sheet.
  4. Brush the meatballs lightly with oil for a golden finish.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).
  6. Serve hot with rice, lettuce wraps, or a dipping sauce of your choice.

Notes

For extra flavor, add chopped green onions or a pinch of red pepper flakes. These meatballs can also be grilled for a smoky touch.
